The City of Harrisonburg sold its former police department building to Rosetta Stone in January 2009 for $300,000. Brian Shull, Harrisonburg's economic development director, said the City made the sale with the stipulation that over the next five years, the company, which went public in April, will create 100 new local jobs with salaries of at least $50,000 per year.

Rosetta Stone is currently renovating the building with an expected August move-in date..

Rosetta Stone's successful IPO in April paints a bright future for the company as a strong supplier of jobs for the central Shenandoah Valley's growing technology base.
