Historically, Harrisonburg and Rockingham County have shown an ability to buck national trends and successfully weather economic extremes. Rockingham Memorial Hospital
Rockingham Memorial Hospital has received the HealthGrades 2009 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical ExcellenceTM. RMH is one of only 82 hospitals in the nation to have achieved this milestone for five consecutive years.
Universities and Colleges
Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are home to three four-year educational institutions - James Madison University, Eastern Mennonite University and Bridgewater College. JMU, with an enrollment of approximately 18,000, consistently ranks high in national listings of the best colleges for education and value.
Blue Ridge Community College, National College and Massanutten Technical Center offer academic two-year degees as well as many vocational certificate programs.
